Shows how much of your Claude, ChatGPT and other AI plans is left, in the Mac menu bar
You are halfway through a task when Claude says you have hit your limit, and you had no idea you were close.

OpenUsage is a free Mac menu bar app that shows how much of each AI subscription you have left. You sign in to accounts such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot or Grok inside the app, and it shows session and weekly limits, credits, balances and reset times in one panel, with the numbers you watch most in the menu bar. It can alert you when a limit runs low. It suits people who pay for several AI plans and keep running into limits.
It reads limits only from each provider's own API through accounts you add, and colors each bar by whether your pace will run out before the reset.
Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

| Feature | What it does | Runs |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | One card per provider with limits, credits, balances and reset times | Provider sign-in |
| Menu bar stars | Up to two starred metrics per provider shown in the menu bar | Your computer |
| Pace colors | Bars turn orange when your pace ends near the limit and red when it would run out before the reset | Your computer |
| Notifications | Optional alerts when a limit falls under 10% or your pace changes | Your computer |
| Command line | An optional command that prints the last fetched usage as JSON for scripts | Your computer |
| Telemetry | Anonymous daily ping and crash reports always on; extra analytics can be turned off | Internet |
Add the AI accounts you pay for and keep their limits in one menu bar panel. Before a long session you can see how much of the weekly limit is left and when it resets, instead of opening each provider's settings page.
