Overview

ChatCut is an AI video editor that your coding or desktop agent controls through an MCP server and plugin. You ask the agent to clean up a talking-head recording, add captions or subtitles, cut highlight clips or create motion graphics, and you get an editable timeline back. It works with your own footage and can also generate video, images, voiceovers and music with ChatCut credits. It suits creators who already work with an agent such as Codex, Claude Code or Cursor.

The agent edits a real timeline you can open and adjust, and can export to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or MP4.

Good to know

You recorded a talking-head video or podcast and want it cleaned up. Your agent removes silences and filler words, adds captions, and hands back a timeline you can open in ChatCut.

Limits

You need a ChatCut account. AI generation uses ChatCut credits, and the agent asks before spending them.
Only the plugin files in the repository are open source; the ChatCut editor is a hosted service and a desktop app. Some features need ChatCut Desktop.
