Overview

AstrBot is an open source chatbot platform that connects AI models to the messaging apps you already use. You install it on your computer or a server, add a model and link one or more chat platforms in its web dashboard, and the bot then answers in personal and group chats. It can use a knowledge base, personas, web search, MCP tools and plugins from a marketplace of over 1,000. It suits individuals, developers and teams who want a bot inside the chat apps they already use.

Good to know

You run a group chat or a team channel and want an AI helper inside it. AstrBot links a model to platforms such as QQ, Telegram or Feishu and manages the bot, its knowledge and its plugins from a web dashboard.

Limits

Each chat platform needs its own bot account or app credentials, and some adapters are maintained by the community rather than the AstrBot team.
The project recommends Docker for a stable, production-ready setup and says the desktop app is not meant for server use.
