Overview

Screenpipe is a desktop app that records the screen text and audio you allow while it runs and keeps that history on your computer by default. You can search what you saw or heard in plain words, run scheduled tasks such as a day recap, and connect Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT through MCP so they can answer questions about your recent work. It suits knowledge workers, remote workers who want meeting notes, and teams looking for work to automate.

Capture and search work offline on your own computer, and AI tools can use that history through MCP once you connect them.

Good to know

You lose track of what you read, said or decided during a busy day. Screenpipe keeps a searchable record of your screen and meetings on your computer, so you or a connected AI assistant can find it later.

Limits

  • It records continuously while running, so exclude sensitive apps and windows in Settings before relying on it. Cloud AI, sync and connected apps can send selected data off your computer, and product analytics is on by default.
  • The free plan keeps a limited history. Business use of builds made from the source code needs an Enterprise license.
