Overview
SolidCraft is a free, open source 3D CAD app for designing solid parts. You sketch a shape, set its dimensions and build it up with steps such as extrude, fillet and holes; change a dimension and the model rebuilds. It exports STL, 3MF and STEP files for 3D printing or other CAD tools, and an AI agent can model through its built-in MCP server while you watch. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux or in the browser, and suits people designing simple parts for 3D printing or other CAD tools; the project calls it early but usable for simple parts.
An AI agent uses the same commands as the toolbar, so you can watch it build a part in the open app and change any dimension afterwards.
Try these first
Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.
- In the browser app, sketch a 40 x 20 mm rectangle, extrude it 5 mm, then change a dimension in Parameters.First try · no install
- Change the part's thickness in Parameters and watch the model rebuild.

Good to know
You want a simple printable part, such as a bracket or an enclosure, with exact dimensions you can change later. SolidCraft records each modelling step on a timeline, and an MCP client can drive the same steps.
Limits
- The project describes itself as early but usable for simple parts, so complex models may run into bugs.
- Windows downloads are not signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a warning the first time you run the installer.
