Keeps your terminals and coding agents in one window and shows which ones need you

View on GitHub

The problem it solves

You have three coding agents running in three terminals, and one of them has been waiting on a yes-or-no question for twenty minutes.

For Developers running coding agentsTechnical makers

Before
You click through terminal windows one by one to find the agent that stopped, and closing a window ends its work.
After
One window shows every agent with a working, blocked, done or idle mark, and terminals keep running when you close it.

Overview

Herdr is a desktop app for people who run coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex in terminals. It groups your work into spaces and tabs, and a sidebar lists agents that report their status as working, blocked, done or idle so you can see which one is waiting for you. Terminals keep running when you close the window, and you can add other machines over SSH. It suits developers and technical makers who keep several agents going at once.

Closing the window does not stop your agents, and the sidebar points you to the one that is blocked instead of making you check each terminal.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Open a space in [project folder], start your coding agent in a tab and ask it to explain the project. Watch its status in the sidebar.First try · read-only

  2. Open a new tab in this space and start [second agent] in it.changes the window

  3. List the spaces and tabs that are open in the Herdr window.read-only

  4. Ask your agent: change Herdr's colors and add a panel that shows the current git branch.edits Herdr settings

Good to know

You run two or three coding agents in different terminals and keep missing the one that stopped to ask a question. Herdr puts them in one window and marks each agent as working, blocked, done or idle.

Limits

  • Usage telemetry is on by default in released builds; turn it off in Settings, Privacy. The installers download and run code, and also install herdr-core, which runs the terminals, if it is missing.
  • Mods are JavaScript programs with your own access to files, programs and the network. Read a mod before installing one from someone else.
  • The project says its downloads are not always code-signed or notarized, so a first run may show an operating system warning.
