What it does
ShellGPT is a command-line helper that answers questions and writes shell commands from plain-English requests. Ask it to find all JSON files or update your system and it suggests the command for your operating system and shell, then lets you run it, get it explained or cancel. It can also summarise piped text, analyse logs and hold a chat. It uses OpenAI by default and can use local models. It suits people who forget command syntax and work in the terminal.
It knows which system and shell you use, and asks before it runs any command it writes for you.
