Overview
CowAgent is an open-source AI assistant you run on your own computer or server. You chat with it in its web console, the desktop app or a messaging app such as WeChat, Feishu, DingTalk, Slack or Telegram; it breaks a request into steps and uses tools like web search, files, a browser and a scheduler to finish it. It keeps long-term memory and builds a personal knowledge base from your chats, and you choose the AI model. It suits people who want a personal assistant inside the chat apps they already use.
It meets you in WeChat, Feishu or Slack instead of a new app, and it remembers past conversations and builds its own notes over time.

Good to know
You want an assistant you can message from WeChat, Feishu or Slack that looks things up, works with files and runs scheduled jobs. CowAgent runs on your own machine, connects to the model you pick and replies in the chat app you connect.
Limits
- Agent mode uses many more model tokens than plain chat, and the assistant can use your computer's files and terminal; the maintainers advise running it only in an environment you trust.
- On a server, the web console listens only on your own machine by default. Opening it to others needs a password setting and a firewall rule.
