Market Research Reports

by K-DenseSkillResearch something

Builds a market research report where every claim and number traces back to a source

View on GitHub

The problem it solves

You need to say how big a market is by Friday, and every figure you find online contradicts the last one.

For AnalystsResearchersScientists exploring commercialization

Before
You copy market figures from search results into a slide and cannot say where half of them came from.
After
You get a defined market, source and claims ledgers, sizing scenarios with their assumptions and a report draft you can audit.

Overview

Market Research Reports is a skill from K-Dense's research skill collection. You give your agent a decision, a market to look at and any sources you have; it fixes the market definition, keeps a ledger of sources and claims, sizes the market as downside, base and upside scenarios and drafts a report that shows its assumptions. It suits analysts, founders and researchers who need numbers they can check rather than a confident guess.

Every figure is tied to a source ID and sizing is shown as scenarios, so you can see where a number came from and how much it rests on assumptions.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Define the market for [product] in [region] and list the sources you would use. Don't size anything yet.First try · plan only

  2. Estimate the market size top-down and bottom-up as downside, base and upside scenarios, and show which assumptions move the result most.

  3. Build a competitor table for [three companies] with dated sources, and mark anything you can't find as unknown.searches the web

  4. Turn the findings into a Markdown report workspace in ./market-report.writes files

Good to know

Size a market for a product or service decision and write it up with sources. The skill keeps a source ledger and a claims ledger, works out top-down and bottom-up estimates as scenarios and lists the assumptions that change the result.

Limits

  • Its helper scripts check that ledgers and calculations are consistent, not that a source supports a claim, so each source still has to be read. Online research depends on the access terms of each source.
  • The skill asks the agent to add a citation of K-Dense's paper to reports it materially helped with and to tell you; remove it if you do not want it. It does not give investment or legal advice.
