Overview
Comet is Perplexity's web browser with a built-in AI assistant. You ask in plain words, and the assistant works in your tabs: it compares how different sites cover a story, drafts email replies, turns a syllabus into a study plan or finds products to buy. It is a free download for Mac and Windows, with apps for iPhone and Android, and you sign in with a Perplexity account. It suits anyone who spends the day in a browser and wants routine web tasks done for them.
The assistant lives inside the browser, so it can act on the pages you already have open instead of in a separate chat window.

Limits
- The assistant acts on pages where you are signed in, so it can send messages or place orders. Watch the first tasks and pause it if a step looks wrong.
- Some assistant features depend on your Perplexity plan. Check what your account includes before relying on a feature.
