Overview

A skill from Anthropic's Small Business plugin for owners who sign contracts without a lawyer on staff. Give it an NDA, service agreement, lease or vendor contract and it sorts the terms into red flags, yellow flags and terms to note, quoting each clause with suggested wording and a negotiation plan. It can also export a marked-up Word copy with the changes shown. It is a business read, not legal advice.

It also flags protections the contract leaves out, such as a liability cap or a change-order process, not only the bad clauses.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Here is a sample NDA: [paste text]. We are [party name]. Flag anything I should push back on and quote each clause.First try · sample text

  2. What happens if I want to end this contract early? [attach contract]

  3. List the payment terms, notice periods and auto-renewal dates in this agreement: [attach contract]

  4. Export a redlined Word copy with your suggested changes.creates a file

Good to know

Read a vendor agreement or NDA before signing and see which terms deserve pushback. The skill quotes each flagged clause, explains the risk across eight areas such as payment, liability and termination, and suggests other wording.

Limits

  • It is not legal advice; every summary names the flags worth an attorney's review. Say which party you are, or the flags may be read from the wrong side.
  • The redlined Word copy needs the docx skill; without it you get a numbered list of changes to paste in yourself.
