Sepia De-AI Writing

by NyanakoSkillWrite better

Revises stories and work documents so they stop reading like AI wrote them

The problem it solves

An AI draft of your story, release note or report reads like a machine wrote it, and you can't tell what gives it away.

For Fiction writersPeople drafting work documents with AIWriters in Chinese or English

Before
You swap words and vary sentences by hand, but the text still has the same tidy machine shape.
After
You get a list of what gives the text away, then fixes from structure down to word choice, matched to fiction or the document type.

Overview

Sepia is a writing skill that fixes the patterns that make text read as machine-written. For fiction it works on the story's structure first, such as themes explained outright and plots that are too tidy, then on flow and word choice; for release notes, postmortems, tickets, articles and long-form journalism it applies rules matched to each kind of document. You can ask it to write, review without editing, make small edits or rewrite in full. It suits fiction writers and people who draft work documents with AI.

For fiction it starts with story structure rather than word choice, following a research paper on what gives AI-written stories away.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Review this scene for signs it reads as AI-written. Don't edit anything yet: [paste scene]First try · review only

  2. Refactor this story with small edits, fixing the deepest problems first: [paste story]

  3. Rewrite these release notes so user impact comes first and nothing is invented: [paste notes]

  4. Write a 1,000-word short story about [premise], and tell me which moves you chose.

Good to know

You have a short story or a work document drafted with AI and want it to read as written by a person. Sepia lists the problems first, then fixes them from the deepest layer up, or writes a fresh version from the facts you give.

Limits

  • Install the complete sepia package; the shortcut commands for write, review, refactor and recreate depend on the main skill.
  • It is tuned for human readers, not to pass AI detectors, and it will not invent names, numbers or quotes; missing facts come back as questions or TODOs.
