Lets your AI agent find the right n8n nodes and build, check and fix workflows for you
An open-source connector that gives an AI agent n8n's node documentation and workflow templates, so it can build and check automations for you. With your n8n address and API key it can also create and update them.

n8n-MCP is an open-source connector that gives an AI agent the documentation for n8n's automation nodes and thousands of workflow templates. You describe the automation you want; the agent looks up the nodes, checks their settings and builds the workflow. Once you add your n8n address and API key, it can also create, test and update workflows in your own n8n. It suits people who build automations in n8n and want an assistant to handle the setup.
It gives the agent n8n's real node settings and checks each workflow before it is saved, so builds start from documented options.
Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

| Toolset | What your agent can do | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Node lookup | Search n8n's core and community nodes and read their settings and docs | Read |
| Templates | Search workflow templates by task, node or keyword | Read |
| Checks | Check node settings and whole workflows for errors before saving | Read |
| Workflow changes | Create, update, test and delete workflows in your n8n | Your n8n, read + write |
| Runs | List, read and delete workflow runs to find what failed | Your n8n, read + write |
| Credentials | List, read, create, change and delete saved credentials in n8n | Your n8n, read + write |
Describe an automation and let an agent assemble it from real n8n nodes and templates. Without an n8n connection it researches and checks workflows; with your n8n API key it can also create, test and fix them in your instance.
