Before
You look up the Expo docs yourself and correct the agent when it picks the wrong package or setting.

Overview

Expo Skills is the Expo team's plugin of agent skills for building iOS and Android apps with Expo and React Native. You ask Claude Code for a screen, an animation, an SDK upgrade or an app store release, and the matching skill guides how it writes the code and uses Expo's tools. The plugin also connects the Expo MCP server, which reads current Expo docs and can start and check EAS builds. It suits developers and makers building a phone app with an AI agent.

It comes from the team that makes Expo, and it labels which skills use the free framework and which rely on paid EAS services.

  2. Add a Settings screen to my Expo app, with a modal for editing the profile.edits files

  3. Upgrade this app to the newest Expo SDK and list any packages that need changes.edits files

  4. Set up an EAS workflow that makes a preview build for every pull request.uses paid EAS

Good to know

Build or change an Expo app with Claude Code. The plugin picks the Expo skill for the task, such as navigation, animation, an SDK upgrade or an app store release, and connects the Expo MCP server for current docs and EAS builds.

Limits

  • Skills named eas-* rely on paid Expo Application Services, and the Expo MCP server needs an Expo account. Skills named expo-* cover the open source Expo framework.
  • The skills guide the agent; Expo's documentation, Expo CLI and EAS CLI remain the source of truth for commands and versions.
