Overview

World Monitor is a free dashboard that gathers news feeds and live data on conflicts, disasters, flights, markets and energy onto a 3D globe or flat map. AI condenses the news into short briefs, and themed versions cover tech, finance, commodities, energy and good news. You open it in the browser or install the desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux. It suits people who follow world events, researchers and anyone who wants one screen instead of dozens of tabs.

It puts news, maps and market data side by side in one free screen, and the desktop app can use a local Ollama model for its summaries.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Open the map, pick [region] and read its latest AI brief. Then open one linked source article and compare.First try · read-only

  2. Switch to the finance view and check how commodities and markets moved today.

  3. Turn on the disaster and weather layers and look for alerts near [city].

  4. In the desktop app, point the AI settings at your local Ollama model so briefs are made on your computer.desktop app

Good to know

Follow a developing world event on one screen. World Monitor lays news briefs, map layers and market data side by side, so you can see what is happening and where without opening many sites.

Limits

  • The free dashboard needs no sign-up and has up to 3 dashboard tabs. The AI analyst, digest, widget builder and API access need a paid plan.
  • AI briefs condense news from many sources. Open the original article before you rely on a detail or share it.
