Overview

Startup Analysis is an agent skill from the Finance Skills collection. Name a startup and it gathers public information from the web, then writes a report from three angles: a VC investor deciding whether to invest, a job applicant weighing an offer, and a founder checking the company health. Each section ends with a verdict or grade, and a closing part shows where the three views agree or differ. It suits people weighing a startup job offer, investors and founders.

One report shows the investor, job applicant and founder views side by side, so you can see where they disagree.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Analyze [startup name]. Start with the founding year, last funding round and main investors, and list your sources.First try

  2. I have a job offer from [startup name]. Focus on runway, equity value and culture signals.

  3. Should an investor look at [startup name]? Give the bull case, key risks and a verdict.

  4. Here is the company website: [URL]. Use it to fill gaps in your analysis.

Good to know

You have a job offer from a startup and want to understand its funding, runway and risks before you answer. The skill researches public information and reports from investor, job seeker and founder viewpoints.

Limits

  • Private startups publish little, so many figures are inferred from signals such as hiring or press; the skill asks for the company website when search finds too little. Treat verdicts as a starting point, not advice.
