Overview

This is an official ComfyUI workflow template for Wan Animate 2, an open character animation model from the Wan team at Alibaba. You give it a picture of a character, a video of someone moving and a short text prompt, and it makes a new video of your character doing the same moves, with a background drawn from the prompt. No pose or skeleton step is needed. The model files take about 24 GB. It suits creators who animate characters and can run large models on their own graphics card.

It reads motion straight from the video frames, so you skip the pose-extraction step the earlier Wan 2.2 Animate needed.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Load the sample character picture and dance video from the template note, keep the sample prompts and render one clip.First try · about 24 GB download

  2. Character appearance description: [describe your character]. Background description: a sunny rooftop at dusk.

  3. Use [your character picture] with [a full-body video of someone waving], keeping both full-body.

Good to know

Animate a still character with motion taken from a driving video, using the official Wan Animate 2 graph. You describe the character's looks and the background in one prompt and the motion in another, and the template saves the new clip with a side-by-side comparison.

Limits

  • Each pass makes 81 frames, about 3.4 seconds; longer videos need copies of the motion step chained by hand, as the template note explains.
  • The template note says mismatched framing, such as a close-up picture with a full-body video, is the most common cause of poor results.
