Overview

Oil UI is a design skill that teaches your agent how to plan an interface before building it. You describe a product, page or component; it studies similar products, recommends one design direction and builds it, or makes several to compare on one page when you ask. It then checks screenshots at desktop and phone sizes and trims what does not help. It suits founders, makers and designers who want a page that does not look like every other AI-made site.

Its comparison page puts several designs side by side with a Select button, so you choose with your eyes instead of describing taste in words.

Try these first

Start with the first one: it is a small task you can check easily.

  1. Use oil-ui to recommend one design direction for a landing page for [your product]. Describe it in words; don't build yet.First try · no files changed

  2. Create three designs for [product] with different typography, colors and layouts, and put them on a comparison page.writes files

  3. Review this homepage and explain what to change and how. Leave the files untouched.read-only

  4. Recreate this page from the screenshot and add a phone layout: [attach screenshot]writes files

Good to know

Ask for a new landing page, app screen or component and let the skill pick a direction from the product's category and audience, then build and screenshot it. Ask for a comparison when you want several distinct directions on one page.

Limits

  • The free version focuses on new pages; the author keeps usability work, existing-project redesigns and some effects for the paid Pro version, and the skill may mention it once.
  • Screenshots need Node.js 22 and a Chromium-based browser; without them it falls back to your agent's own browser tools.
