View on GitHub

The problem it solves

You have spent another evening rewriting your CV for a job, and you are not even sure you fit the role or that it is still open.

For Job seekersCareer changersPeople applying to many roles

Before
You read every posting, guess at the fit and rewrite your CV and cover letter by hand for each one.
After
You paste a job; it checks the posting, scores the fit from 1 to 5, and drafts a tailored CV and cover letter for the roles worth it.

Overview

career-ops is an open-source job search assistant that runs inside Claude Code or the Code tab of the Claude desktop app. You paste a job link or description; it checks the posting is still open, scores the fit against your CV from 1 to 5 and drafts a tailored CV as a PDF, a cover letter and interview prep. It never submits an application or sends a message, and it saves your files in a folder on your computer. It suits job seekers who want to apply to fewer, better-matched roles.

It tells you when to skip a job as well as how to apply, and it saves every application and draft in a folder on your own computer.

Good to know

Decide whether a job posting is worth an evening before you apply. career-ops checks the posting, scores it against your CV and, for a good fit, drafts a tailored CV and cover letter for you to read and send yourself.

Limits

  • As a plugin it runs only in Claude Code and the desktop app's Code tab, not in Chat or Cowork. The first start installs its Node packages.
  • It rewrites your CV from your own facts, and the project asks you to read every CV before sending it; it never submits forms or sends email.
