What it does

Supabase MCP Server is Supabase's hosted connector for AI agents. After you sign in and pick an organization, your agent can design and change tables, query data, read project settings and logs, and search the Supabase docs. You can limit it to one project, to read-only mode or to chosen feature groups. It suits people building apps on Supabase who want their agent to handle the database side.

It lets an agent set up and change a real database for your app by conversation, with read-only and project-scope switches to limit what it can touch.

Before you start

  • An AI agent that supports MCP, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
  • A Supabase account with at least one project
  • Read-only mode and a single-project scope before you connect production data
  • Free option: Yes; the Free plan includes a small database and two active projects
  • It connects to the internet. Your agent will show you what before installing.
  • Free. Nothing to pay.
