Open WebUI is a free, self-hosted chat app for AI models that you open in your browser. You connect it to models on your own computer through Ollama, or to cloud models from OpenAI, Anthropic and others with your own key, then chat, ask questions about files, search the web and build custom assistants. The first account is the admin, who can let other people join, so a family or team can share one install. It suits people who want a private ChatGPT-style workspace they control.
One install gives a whole group a ChatGPT-style workspace on hardware you control, and it can run fully offline with local models.
