# Install brief: Editable Slides from Images

## What it does

This skill takes slides that are only pictures, such as screenshots, a PDF or an image-based .pptx, and rebuilds them as a PowerPoint file with real text boxes, simple shapes, tables and separate image pieces. You attach the files in a chat with your agent and get back a .pptx with the same slide order and any speaker notes kept. It suits people who received a deck they cannot edit and can spare a lot of image-generation usage for the long conversion runs.

## Editorial notes

Turn a slide you only have as a picture or PDF page into a PowerPoint slide whose text, simple shapes and tables you can change. Multi-page files are split into page jobs and rebuilt in the original order.

Original project name: image-to-editable-ppt

- The author warns that it is slow and costly: one slide can take over 10 minutes, and converting a deck can cost two to three times as much as generating one.
- Positions and images can shift slightly, so the result is not an exact copy. The author recommends running it in Codex with Full Access, so it will not stop to ask. When a PaddleOCR token is set, page images are sent to Baidu's service; for confidential slides, ask for local-only processing first.

Suggested first task: Start with one slide image that has a title, a few bullet points and an icon. Open the resulting .pptx and compare each text box with the original.
